'How can it not be fantastic to be touched?'
'How can it not be fantastic to be touched?' is a short film from a 2-day workshop in May 2019 that investigates the hospital environment. For the workshop dance artists and academics came together to think through movement improvisation, reflection and mark-making and research ideas around hospital spaces and how we navigate these. The workshop revealed how touch and how we move about in a space is completely dependent on context and how we perceive an environment and our relationship to other bodies. What makes us fell at home and comfortable in an environment? In which contexts are touch welcome or not?
Motherhood In/As Training
A Film Project
‘I don’t want to dance’ is a short film about what motherhood sees and how motherhood sees through the eyes of a dance artist. This project explores the correlations and tensions between being a dance artist in training and a mother at the same time.

'1, 2, 3 ...4' includes footage from Northern School of Contemporary dance in 2005, Independent Dance 2016 and University of Leeds 2017.The film plays with our perception of time and challenges our ideas of 'training for the future' and motherhood as 'training for now'.

I relocated in October 2017 from Leeds to Denmark (where I grew up) and I now live in Horsens. The transition has brought up many questions for me about how I relate to the idea of ‘home’ – in the sense of belonging to a place but also belonging to a family. The film seeks to define and to reflect on what home means when places and people must disconnect and then reconnect.
